Hi Dog Lovers!
During February 2018, The Wallingford Dog Lovers Association hired and paid a fence company to replace the worn hinges on the entry gate with new hinges that only open outward, they welded some spots on the posts, and repaired a section of fence damaged in a recent storm. This was all paid for by the association through donated funds.
We are in the process of taking care of a few issues that plague every dog park. We, like you, want the park to be an enjoyable experience for you and your fur kids.
The first step, for this process of taking care of the issues, would be for all of us to take a moment to read and follow the Dog Park Rules. Click here to view and read the Rules
The next step is to become a member or a friend of the WDLA.
The Bark Park is a Town of Wallingford Parks & Rec owned park that is maintained by volunteers. We love that you bring your dog to the park, follow the rules, and please consider becoming a member to help maintain and preserve the beauty of the park.

The Park
The Bert & Harry Subkowsky Bark Park officially opened on Saturday September 26, 2015. It is an off leash dog park located at 347 Quinnipiac Street right alongside the Quinnipiac River. The property is owned by the Town of Wallingford and is under the jurisdiction of the Parks & Recreation Dept. It is maintained by WDLA and the Public Works Dept. There are over 2,200 registered dogs in Wallingford and the park offers them a safe and secure place to exercise and socialize with other non-aggressive dogs and their responsible owners. The park has two sections, one for large playful dogs and another section for small or more timid dogs. A responsible dog owner will know which side their dog should be in.
Water & Plastic BagsThere is NO running water but there are bowls at the park ... Please bring a bottle/gallon of tap water and place it in the main entrance area.
Also, please bring plastic bags, the grocery store kind, and put them in the various bag receptacles hanging on the fence throughout the park, and please put the poop in the garbage cans ... not the bag receptacles. |
Air HornAn Air Horn, located in the Large Dog area on the right side fence towards the front, is available for emergencies only in (hopefully) breaking up fighting dogs. Please aim the horn upward before sounding the horn.
