Remembering Hayley ...

Picture
Hayley at the Parks opening day September 26, 2015.
Hayley was a lovable Maltese/Silkie Terrier mix and so loved by her owner Bud Bassoli. Her mission was to be by Bud's side all the time since she came into his home at 8 weeks old. She was 14 years old when she passed on October 30, 2022.  Hayley loved everyone and enjoyed being with her brother Colby and sister Macy, loved RVing looking for chipmunks and birdies, and loved going to the Bark Park when she was younger.

Remembering Nugget ...

Nugget was our baby boy. We got him at 12 weeks old. Debbie and I loved and cared for him for 15 years, and he us. He passed on July, 17th at 10:20 AM. He loved being with us and going for walks. He was so much fun even in his later years. We miss you, Nugget, everyday and love you so much.

Clancy was special but we especially feel it when we lose them.  Every day is a little better.

Remembering Mark ...

In memory of the founder of the Bark Park and the WDLA, Mark Semrau, 69, of Wallingford.
I was first introduced to Mark in August of 2012 when I read an article in the Record-Journal about an informational meeting at Wallingford Park & Rec to create a dog park in Wallingford.
I went to the meeting to see what it was about and listened to Mark's ideas to create the project.  His passion and energy was contagious.  After the meeting I approached Mark about some ideas and the next thing I knew we were looking at properties around town to possibly be used for the park.
The Wallingford Dog Lovers Association was formed months later and we were ready to build a park.  He and his wife, Amy, would travel to parks throughout the state with their Bassett Hounds getting ideas for our town park.
He was always proud of the time it took us to create the park.  Just over 2 years, opening in September, 2015.  Mark was also willing to lend a hand to other groups such as Meriden in building their park.
Mark will be sorely missed but his energy and passion will live on with his friends in WDLA and The Burt and Harry Subkowsky Bark Park.
Thank you, Mark.
